Career

Yoon Chung Kim focuses her practice on tax consultancy for federal, state, and municipal taxes. This includes providing legal opinions, preparing memoranda, supporting tax inspections, and handling defenses/appeals against infraction notices. Her work also involves securing tax benefits, immunities and exemptions, navigating tax treaties, as well as managing special tax rescheduling programs and tax amnesties, among others. Additionally, she is experienced in tax litigation in both the administrative and judicial spheres.

She has vast expertise in tax matters and litigation issues, particularly concerning taxation on specific segments and products that are subject to special tax regulations, such as the cosmetics, perfumery and hygiene industry, pharmaceutical and medical hospital products, agribusiness, and the food and beverage sector. She is also knowledgeable about the importation, manufacturing, distribution, and sale chain of these products.

Yoon has served as a tax lawyer at a leading Brazilian law firm for over 20 years. Additionally, she has experience as the head of the legal department of a multinational company specializing in cosmetics and dermo-cosmetics. She also has international experience as a foreign correspondent at the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD) in Amsterdam, Netherlands, focusing on both international and domestic Brazilian tax matters.
