Rafael Alves represents clients in domestic and international arbitration, mediation, and negotiation proceedings on complex disputes regarding construction contracts, M&A transactions, commercial partnerships, real estate, banking, oil & gas, energy, among others. He regularly sits as an arbitrator in Brazil. He is a former Deputy Counsel at the Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris.

Professor of arbitration at the Graduate Program (FGV LAW) at Fundação Getulio Vargas in São Paulo (FGV DIREITO SP). Sits as an arbitrator and mediator and is listed in several Brazilian chambers.

Author of the books “A inadmissibilidade das medidas antiarbitragem no direito brasileiro”, “Árbitro e Direito: o julgamento do mérito na Arbitragem”, “The Brazilian Arbitration Act: A Case Law Guide” (with Andre Abbud and Daniel Levy, Kluwer Wolters, 2019), among other national and international publications.
