Career

Marie-Pier Cloutier has vast experience in civil, commercial and administrative litigation obtained over the course of ten years in high-profile and large-scale cases before trial and appeal courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada.

Her practice is broad, demonstrating her versatility. She has, among other things, represented corporations and individuals in class actions, lawsuits touching upon energy law, telecommunications and broadcasting law, consumer protection law, commissions of inquiry and defamation. Prior to joining Woods, she worked in commercial and regulatory litigation for the Attorney General of Canada.

Marie-Pier is actively involved in the training, mentoring and professional development of young lawyers and students within the firm, and chairs the Professional Development Committee. A graduate of McGill in civil and common law, she has trained the McGill University Faculty of Law team in the Laskin National Moot Court Competition in constitutional and administrative law for several years.
