David is a Partner in the Firm and the Head of the Dispute Resolution Department of the Firm.  His area of specialization is local and international commercial arbitration, commercial litigation covering various areas such as contract law, employment law, tax law, mining law, banking and finance, as well as capital market disputes. David has over the years gained considerable experience in assisting our clients with various complex legal issues and enjoys considerable respect within the legal profession.

David has undertaken the following notable matters;

Undertook an international arbitration under the flagship of the International Court of Arbitration in line with the International Chamber of Commerce Rules with the seat of arbitration being in London Is part of the key legal team representing Vedanta Resources Limited in the litigation before the Courts in Zambia over the liquidation proceedings regarding Zambia’s biggest copper mining company, Konkola Copper Mines Limited. Is part of the key legal team in the litigation proceedings involving Zambezi Portland Limited. David was lead local counsel from the Firm on the successful debut USD750 Million sovereign bond issued by the Government of the Republic of Zambia on the international capital market. Has undertaken several arbitration proceedings locally, including an arbitration involving a joint venture agreement for local and international flights into Zambia involving SA Airlink Proprietary Limited. Played an active role in providing legal advice to Luanshya Copper Mines during the period of care and maintenance and well as the eventual transfer of the majority of the shares in Luanshya Copper Mines. Played a role in undertaking a legal due diligence of the China Non-Ferrous Metals Companies in Zambia with a view to potentially listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange

David has also successfully undertaken a number of commercial and employment litigation cases that have since been reported in the Zambia Law Reports.

Further, and as part of his giving back to society, David undertakes some criminal matters on pro bono basis to people who are not able to afford legal representation.
