Position
Emanuela is one of the Founding Partners of Dentons LEAD and heads the Tax and Energy & Natural Resources practice areas. Her areas of expertise are in Public and Tax Law, including tax litigation; Specializations include: Mineral Resources, Energy, Oil and Gas and Corporate Compliance.
Career
Emanuela worked as a compliance officer for over a decade in one of the largest oil and gas companies in Angola and the UK, making her a highly experienced expert in compliance programs, focusing on oil and gas transactions.
She has acquired vast experience in mergers and acquisitions with a particular focus on due diligences and risk analysis of non-compliance to applicable norms and analysis of tax law implications in M&A related matters.
Throughout her career she has advised on various legal tax issues, focusing on tax and customs litigation and on employment law issues, having particular experience in labour disputes.
Emanuela has been a frequent speaker on numerous national and international conferences (on Public Law and Tax Law related issues) and is the author of several papers on Public Law and Civil Law.
Prior to founding Dentons LEAD, Emanuela was a Senior Associate at FBL Advogados. Emanuela also was an Advisor to the Angolan Audit Court (2002-2003).
Recently Emanuela has received the honor of being appointed to the Judiciary Higher Council of Angola, as an outstanding lawyer chosen by the Angolan parliament to represent the lawyers’ quota in the Council.
