Career
Sławomir Czerwiński is a Partner heading the Corporate / M&A and the Private Equity practice at CMS Poland. He specialises in M&A, corporate and commercial work, with a particular focus on private equity transactions and the healthcare, financial services, FMCG and infrastructure sectors. Sławomir has advised private equity houses and corporates on a number of investments, exits, joint ventures and mergers. He also has extensive experience in corporate governance issues.
Prior to joining CMS in 2020, Sławomir worked at Clifford Chance (2007-2020) and at Baker McKenzie (2005-2007).

The private equity practice at CMS sits within the firm’s wider corporate and M&A group and assists international private equity houses, as well as more regional CEE funds. The team is experienced in handling the entire range of investment work, including the integration of businesses, restructurings, implementing growth strategies, and divestments. Practice head Sławomir Czerwiński has a particular focus on private equity transactions in the healthcare, financial services, FMCG, and infrastructure industries, as does Mateusz Stępień. Olga Czyżycka-Szczygieł is another core member of the team with expertise in acquisitions and sales. Ryszard Manteuffel and Robert Semczuk both joined the team from Deloitte Legal, Gizicki i Wspólnicy sp.k. in March 2024, while previous co-head Rafał Zwierz departed in April 2024.

The ECM and DCM teams at CMS benefit from the firm’s wide expanse of international offices, enabling the smooth coordination of multi-jurisdictional projects. On the ECM side of the practice, the group supports clients with their IPOs, secondary public and and private placements and delistings, while the DCM team advises issuers, investors, investment banks and financial institutions on bonds, bank securities, covered bonds and bills of exchange. Having joined the firm from Deloitte Legal, Gizicki i Wspólnicy sp.k. in March 2024, Ryszard Manteuffel now heads up the ECM practice, within which the chair of the M&A practice, Sławomir Czerwiński, is also a key name.
