Position
Andrew is an insurance Partner based in BLM’s Glasgow office.
He is instructed by insurers, legacy insurers, self-insured businesses and loss adjusters directly and is experienced in dealing with employers’ liability, public liability and motor claims for the firm’s clients and in commercial disputes.
His experience of casualty and motor claims spans more than 24 years.
Andrew has experience of a wide range of cases in the Court of Session and Sheriff Court, with a particular focus on high value disease and environmental claims. These include: all asbestos-related conditions; HAVS; carpal tunnel syndrome; noise-induced deafness and tinnitus; occupational asthma; occupational skin conditions; allergic conditions and repetitive strain injuries. He also regularly speaks at conferences and delivers training to a variety of clients in different industry sectors in all aspects of Scottish claims and litigation.

Trained Simpson & Marwick, (now Clyde & Co); qualified 1999; assistant solicitor Simpson & Marwick 1999-2001; assistant solicitor BLM legacy firm HBM Sayers 2001-06; associate 2006-08; senior associate 2008-10; partner 2010-14; partner BLM 2014 to date, following merger with HBM Sayers.

Law Society of Scotland; Forum of Insurance Lawyers; FOIL Scotland Occupational Disease Sector Focus Team; former member of the Council of the Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow. Member of BLM's Partnership Board.
