Career

Gino is a Senior Associate in the Private Wealth Disputes team, primarily based in the Norwich Office.

Having practiced law since 2010, Gino has a wide range of experience across the private and public sectors representing global organisations and individuals in a plethora of disputes. Gino now specialises in resolving estate, trusts and inheritance disputes, including claims relating to the validity, construction and rectification of Wills and the Inheritance (Provisions for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.

Gino is a member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, having attained “Associate” status.

Whilst working for a leading law firm in the North of England, Gino had a reported case in the Court of Protection in which Senior Judge Hilder was required to consider whether the court can, or should, appoint as deputy the holder of a specified office or position (as distinct from a named individual holding such office at the time of appointment) under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 – SH [2018] EWCOP 21.

Gino prides himself on being a pragmatic and proactive lawyer whilst ensuring clients’ needs are kept at the forefront of his thinking, thus ensuring the very best outcome is achieved.

In his spare time, Gino enjoys spending time with his family and friends, discovering the delights of Norfolk and Suffolk and making fresh pasta whilst listening to his favourite Spotify playlist.

Lawyer Rankings

East Anglia > Private client > Contentious trusts and probate

Ashtons Legal has built up a substantial contentious trusts and probate group in recent years and some clients see it as ‘the “go to” firm in East Anglia for private wealth disputes‘. Lead partner and ACTAPS member Polly Stephenson in Ipswich focuses purely on this area of law, with strong support from ‘reliable and exceptional‘ legal executive Joanna Baker (who is known for her ‘deft client handling and empathetic approach‘). Litigation partner Annabel Mayer in Bury St Edmunds and ‘thorough and conscientious‘ senior associate Gino Ballestracci in Norwich also play key roles in the practice.
