Bill has nearly 40 years of experience representing financial services organizations – particularly banks – across a wide range of regulatory issues whilst at A&O Shearman.

These have included advising banking organizations on structure and powers issues under the National Bank Act, the Bank Holding Company Act, the Federal Reserve Act and the International Banking Act. He has also worked in the bank mergers and acquisition area, representing banking organizations in the acquisition of, or investment in, banking and nonbank organizations. He advises domestic and foreign banking organizations in connection with compliance and enforcement issues related to many kinds of activities, including lending, fiduciary, securities processing, custody and mortgage servicing businesses.
