Position

Solicitor

Career

In the Court of Protection I regularly represent vulnerable clients, through the offices of the Official Solicitor as litigation friend, who may lack capacity in areas of care and support, litigation, accommodation, contact with family, sexual relations, and social media. My role is to ensure that clients’ wishes and feelings are heard and seriously considered in relation to any proceedings.

Education

I gained my MLaw (exempting) degree from Northumbria University in 2014 obtaining a 2:1. I was employed by a large regional firm towards the end of my degree, where I completed my training and qualified as a solicitor in March 2018. I specialised in Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence for 7 years, which provided a good basis for developing my skills for a move to Court of Protection. I understand how difficult and daunting court proceedings can be and aim to treat every client or person involved with compassion, patience and understanding.
