Career

I am a partner within the firm and head the criminal law and motoring teams at David Gray Solicitors LLP.

I practice in all matters related to criminal defence law from police station representation through to representing clients at magistrates’ and Crown Courts. I am also a higher court advocate representing defendants in the crown court and court of appeal.

I specialise in representing people in court and under investigation for serious matters. I can provide advice and representation throughout a case – and we provide a seamless service ensuring that you receive the best advice as early as possible.

I am known for winning difficult cases. I have represented defendants facing serious charges including murder, rape, sexual offences, extensive drug importations and supply, violent crime, white-collar crime, proceeds of crime and regulatory crime.

The crown court can be intimidating for any defendant. I will ensure you understand every stage of the proceedings. I will assist you in making difficult decisions and ensure you are listened to.

If you are considering an appeal against conviction or sentence, I can provide you with advice and representation.  The appeal process can be complex and I will guide you through and fully consider the merits of your case. If you are serving a prison sentence I can also work with family members – if requested to – and keep everyone informed.

I have considerable experience of providing representation before inquests. If you have an interest in a case that has been referred to the coroner or an inquest is likely, please contact me for further advice.

I have been involved in a wide variety of cases including, gangland murder, murder of children and murder by children. I have conducted a number of drug importation cases, supply cases, organised football violence cases, environmental prosecutions and applications under the proceeds of crime act.

I have also appeared in a number of inquests, including; death in a care home, death in police custody and death of a motorcyclist following a police chase, as well as acting on behalf of families following the death of a relative in prison.

I have specialised in criminal law since 1995 and am a qualified duty solicitor, member of the Criminal Litigation Accreditation Scheme and a supervisor.
