Aidan Healy

Aidan is an experienced regulatory and commercial law practitioner, specialising in advising on data protection & cyber risk.  He is the data protection officer for DACB Dublin and has a broad range of experience in advising clients on GDPR implementation and data breach response. Aidan advises regulators and public bodies, professional associations, professionals and insurers on professional regulatory and fitness to practise matters. Aidan is an expert in sports law and represents the prosecutor of all anti-doping cases in Ireland, Sport Ireland. He has a detailed knowledge of disciplinary structures and procedures and has been involved in numerous cases before the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Aidan has authored a chapter in Sports Betting: Law and Policy (Asser International Sports Law Series) TMC Asser Press. He is a tutor on the Law Society of Ireland's Sports Law Diploma Course and has written for publications such as the Sunday Independent, Sunday Business Post and Irish Pharmacy Union Review. He has appeared on TV3, as well as a variety of radio stations.

Brian Ormond

Brian is a Senior Associate in our Dublin office. He specialises in professional regulation and general regulatory advisory work, advising both regulators and regulated professionals & businesses on fitness to practise complaints, inquiries, inspections, investigations and prosecutions. He also advises regulators and other public bodies on administrative law issues generally, corporate governance, guidelines and procedures, training and other specialist matters to include acting as legal assessor in professional disciplinary matters.Brian has acted in numerous judicial reviews, appeals on a point of law, statutory appeals and other applications before the High Court, seeking various statutory reliefs. He has previously also represented clients in matters before the Court of Appeal (Civil), Court of Appeal (Military) and the Supreme Court. With a broad background in litigation, Brian also acts for regulated businesses in general High Court proceedings brought by state bodies.Brian has extensive experience of issues relating to the regulated residential tenancies sector and frequently advises and represents a variety of clients in matters involving the Residential Tenancies Board and related legislation.

Gary Rice

Gary is an experienced public, regulatory and commercial law solicitor who provides legal, strategic and consultancy services to clients in the professions, public, sport, health and insurance sectors. He qualified in 1986 and joined DAC Beachcroft in 2014 from another large Irish law firm where he had been a partner and had served as chairman.Gary has extensive experience acting for public bodies, publicly funded organisations, professionals and their representative associations in regulatory and commercial issues including fitness to practise proceedings, regulatory change management, the drafting and interpretation of legislation, the application of competition and European law to professional and public services, commercial agreements, freedom of information and data protection. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has successfully acted in high profile litigation proceedings, judicial reviews and procurement challenges on behalf of public sector and professional association clients.Gary represents high profile sports organisations and regulators on legal issues including anti-doping and integrity regulation, prosecutions and disciplinary proceedings, sponsorship agreements, merchandising, endorsement, safety health and environmental issues, competition law and brand protection and exploitation. He has appeared in numerous tribunals and courts on behalf of his clients including before the Court of Arbitration for Sport.Gary regularly writes articles and gives talks and workshops on his areas of expertise and has appeared on radio and television discussing legal developments.

Niall Sexton

Niall is an Associate in our Dublin office. He trained in a medium sized firm in Dublin before moving to London to obtain further experience in public, administrative and regulatory law. Niall returned from a US based law firm in London to DAC Beachcroft Dublin in October 2016 as a solicitor in the Regulatory and Disciplinary team. Niall advises clients across a range of regulated sectors including healthcare, financial, insurance and legal to name but a few. He has experience in inspections, investigations and enquiries from professional practice, regulatory investigations and criminal perspectives. He represents clients in regulatory, fitness to practise and corporate/regulatory criminal prosecutions. Prior to training as a solicitor he worked as a parliamentary assistant in the Houses of the Oireachtas (Irish Parliament) where he gained invaluable insight into the legislative process as well as obtaining experience across both public and regulatory law in Ireland.

Noreen Howard

Noreen has also provided coverage advice in relation to a number of cyber/technology claims and in particular policy issues arising from data breaches/breach response.Noreen's practice also focuses on medical malpractice where she advises healthcare practitioners and their indemnifiers on the defence of medical malpractice claims.She has in excess of eighteen years' experience in defending complex, high value, professional indemnity/medical mal-practice claims. Noreen is a strong advocate of ADR and in particular mediation and has resolved numerous disputes at mediation. In 2010, Noreen was awarded the International Law Office Litigator Client Choice Award for Ireland. The Client Choice awards recognise partners in law firms around the world that stand apart for the excellent client care and the quality of the service they provide. Noreen was also appointed as one of the two solicitor members to the Commercial Court Users Committee in 2007. That Committee, chaired by Mr Justice Peter Kelly, was established to provide feedback from practitioners on the operation of the Commercial Court.
