Position

Kanishka Singh is a partner in the Energy, Infrastructure and Projects practice at Dentons’ Abu Dhabi office. Kanishka has worked with international law firms in both the UK and the UAE and specializes in a broad array of energy, infrastructure and transport projects, including, but not limited to, renewables (power/water/solar), conventional energy, waste treatment, district cooling, rolling stock and civil engineering projects. In addition to his private practice experience, Kanishka understands the commercials behind a PPP/PFI transaction having previously worked as the Legal Director/Head of Legal at Veolia (Middle East), now the world’s largest water, sustainability and waste management company.

Kanishka has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Legal 500 in its 2020 (Band 1 – Construction) rankings. He has also been recognized in the Legal 500 (Band 1 – Project Finance) rankings for transactional advisory on a multi-billion-dollar I(W)PP in the GCC.

    ADNOC acquisition: Advising a French utility company on all legal aspects and project documents in relation to the bid for the acquisition of waste treatment assets owned by ADNOC in Abu Dhabi.

  • Saudi Aramco Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant: Advising Veolia on all legal aspects and project documents in relation to the bid for development, testing, commissioning, operation, maintenance and transfer of the Ras Tanura IWWTP with Saudi Aramco as the client/offtaker.
  • SWPC Madinah 3 ISTP: Advising Veolia on all legal aspects and project documents in relation to the bid for the financing, design, development, testing, commissioning and operation of the 375,000 m3/day ISTP and associated electrical and water facilities in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
  • OPWP Al Ghubrah III IWP Project, Oman: Advising lenders to the GS Inima led sponsor consortium bidding in respect of the 300,000 m3/day Ghubrah III IWP in Oman.
  • India District Cooling Project: Advising Tabreed as sponsor on its successful bid to develop and finance “a first of its kind” district cooling facility for the Amaravati government complex in Andhra Pradesh in India. The deal involved advising Tabreed on the bid strategy, bid submission and the various project agreements.
