Career
Mike practises in both Dentons Canada LLP’s Corporate/Commercial Group and Financial Services Group with a broad range of experience having advised clients involved in transactions in these practice areas for over 20 years. Mike regularly advises Canadian, U.S. and international corporate and institutional clients with respect to (a) corporate, private M&A and venture capital transactions over a variety of industries, and (b) all aspects of domestic and cross-border secured lending transactions including acquisition, term and operating financing with a particular focus on subordinated debt financing.
Mike is very active in cross-border matters and regularly acts for several U.S.-based institutional lenders. Additionally, he is frequently retained by major U.S. law firms to advise on the Canadian aspects of corporate and lending transactions.
Mike also acts as external general counsel as a trusted advisor for a number of Canadian, U.S. and international corporations providing or coordinating advice in all areas of Canadian business law.
