Career

Sarah Acker is a conflicts lawyer with Dentons' Office of the General Counsel. Her role involves identifying and resolving potential conflicts of interest, and related compliance issues domestically and internationally, including giving legal advice on whether new retainers can be accepted in the context of existing clients, regulatory rules, and firm policies.

Prior to joining Dentons, Sarah articled with the Ministry of the Attorney General, Crown Law Office -Criminal, where she worked on criminal appellate matters and prosecuted provincial offences. She was also involved in pro bono legal work with Montréal’s Aboriginal community, and the national office of Innocence Canada (previously the Association in Defence of the Wrongly Convicted).

Sarah holds a Master of Arts in Political Science, and has studied and worked in Montréal, Paris and Washington, D.C.
