Career

Bill is co-lead of Dentons’ Mergers and Acquisitions team in Canada and a co-lead of its Financial Institution sector group in Canada. Bill has a transaction-based practice advising corporations, investment dealers and banks with respect to the structuring and implementation of mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financings, project financings and joint ventures.

Bill was the presiding member of the National Partnership Board of Dentons Canada from 2009 to 2015 and participated in the formation of Dentons, serving as the first Global Vice Chair of Dentons from Canada during the period from 2012 until the end of 2015.

Bill received the “Client Choice Award” for 2016 from the International Law Office with respect to M&A in Alberta. These awards recognize lawyers around the world that stand apart for the excellent client service they provide.

Bill represented the Canadian Bankers’ Association in Alberta for many years and has experience advising financial institutions on issues relating to lending practices and capital markets compliance. He is also a former Chairman of the Securities Law section of the Canadian Bar Association in Southern Alberta and a frequent contributor to seminars on corporate finance topics..
