Dan Collins is a partner in Dentons’ Energy Regulation group based in Calgary practicing primarily in the areas of energy regulatory and environmental law. He has significant experience representing clients in complex and contentious regulatory proceedings before the Canada Energy Regulator, Alberta Energy Regulator, Alberta Utilities Commission, Alberta Environmental Appeals Board and various other federal and provincial regulators.

Dan advises clients on compliance with federal and provincial environmental laws, including management and minimization of liability arising from environmental risks. He also has experience representing clients facing enforcement actions, environmental prosecutions, and investigations resulting from operational incidents.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, specializing in Energy Conversion, from the University of New Brunswick. Prior to entering the legal profession, he worked for a leading engineering consulting firm, focusing on air pollution control and regulatory compliance matters.
