Career

Martin Poulin is a member of the Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy group and the Litigation and Dispute Resolution group of Dentons Canada LLP’s Montreal office. His practice focuses on bankruptcy, restructuring, insolvency as well as commercial litigation and environmental litigation.

Martin draws upon his expertise to help secured lenders in enforcing their security through the exercise of bank security, hypothecary rights and remedies. He advises creditors in matters leading to the appointment of receivers. He also advises corporate debtors on their reorganizations under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act and other insolvency proceedings.

Martin also advises banks in lender liability actions and cases involving bills of exchange and letters of credit. Martin acts in fraud and assets recovery cases and in the exercise of extraordinary remedies such as seizure before judgment and injunctions of all types including Mareva injunctions and Norwich and Anton Piller orders.

Additionally, he advises clients on matters pertaining to administrative and constitutional law. More specifically, Martin advises clients which are under investigation by various government agencies.

Finally Martin represents clients in negotiations with environmental authorities and in environmental litigation.
