Career

Bruce Horowitz is co-founder of Dentons Paz Horowitz and has more than 30 years of international experience in intellectual property, anti-corruption, compliance and law firm management. His practice focuses on helping clients navigate complex corruption and extortion risks, particularly in matters related to FCPA compliance and ethical business operations in high-risk environments. Bruce is widely recognized for combining strategic legal advice with practical, business-oriented solutions that help clients operate safely and responsibly across regulated industries.

He is also recognized as a pioneer in intellectual property law in Ecuador and the region. Together with his team, he led several landmark registrations, including Ecuador’s first protected geographical indication (Panama Hat), the country’s first denomination of origin (Montecristi), the region’s first sound trademark (Intel’s startup sound), and the world’s first tactile trademark for the cracked texture of the Old Parr bottle. In addition to his legal practice, Bruce has maintained a longstanding commitment to pro bono work, anti-corruption advocacy and community empowerment initiatives. He has held leadership roles in organizations including the American Bar Association, International Trademark Association and TRACE International, and has received multiple international recognitions for his contributions to anti-corruption, intellectual property and pro bono leadership.
