Position

Dia Zaiter is a legal consultant and the head of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice at the Dentons Amman office. He has more than 22 years' experience practicing law in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Clients benefit from his extensive knowledge and expertise covering the full spectrum of arbitration cases, commercial disputes, and across a broad range of industry sectors, including taxation, banking, telecom, aviation, construction, infrastructure, renewable energy, real estate, and oil and gas. He has a strong track record on many leading cases in the region demonstrating his ability and commitment to the success of his clients. Dia is licensed to appear in all court levels.

Dia regularly advises both national and international clients on their corporate, commercial and financing activities in Jordan. He deals with the formation and restructuring of companies, mergers and acquisitions, winding-up and liquidation, among other corporate-related matters. He conducts extensive due diligence, advises national and multinational corporations on all aspects of foreign investment, and advises clients as to employment, regulatory and commercial matters.

Gama Güç Sistemleri Mühendislik ve Taahhüt A.Ş.: Advising in relation to a US$1.1 billion project to pump water from the Disi aquifer on the Jordan-Saudi Arabia border, where Gama built pipelines and pumping stations to convey water up to 250km from Disi to Amman and other cities. Representing Gama in more than 40 lawsuits related to this strategically important water supply project, including financial claims of non-payment of performed works, physical damages and loss of profits as a result of its excavation works regarding the project, as well as sub-contracting disputes, labour law, financial compensations, and customs related matters. adidas Levant Limited: Advising the largest sportswear manufacturer in the world on various subject matter disputes before the Jordanian courts. This includes customs lawsuits, employment claims, cheques and financial claims, leasing/rent compensations and others; leading on mediation matters of ongoing discussions for breach of contract and delivery defaults. Philadelphia Solar Company: Representing the client before all Jordanian courts in connection with over 15 lawsuits with subject matters ranging from financial claims, compensation from contractors, employment and labour claims, and customs issues; Assisting with various EPC contracts, supply of photovoltaic panel contracts, including to assist with the review and negotiation of several joint development agreements, the value of the project being US$100 million. An international bank: Advising in relation to numerous financial and criminal claims against a variety of opposing parties including banks, tech companies, energy companies, as well as internal employment and social security matters. Work involves representing the client before civil courts, criminal courts and administrative courts within the Kingdom. Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem: The client represents the Catholic church in Jordan, and owns several institutions, schools and universities, including the American University of Madaba; advising in regards to all their litigation matters in Jordan, namely in relation to construction arbitration, real estate, employment claims, checks and financial claims
