Career

Michelle is a partner in our Real Estate team. She helps clients with commercial property deals, and she has particular expertise in commercial leasing and development projects (including subdivisions). She also has expertise in body corporate matters.

Michelle advises a wide range of clients including multi-national corporates, developers, institutional and private investors, businesses and organisations with extensive leasing portfolios and private clients. She works closely with in-house counsel, CEOs and CFOs, general managers and property managers.

Michelle has advised the owners and tenants of a wide range of commercial buildings including shopping malls, retail strips, industrial buildings and offices. She has negotiated several complex design-build lease projects, and she is also experienced in advising clients who are developing or subdividing land.

Michelle provides specialist advice on a range of body corporate matters, including subdividing land into unit title units and drafting body corporate rules. She also advises bodies corporate undertaking significant remedial work, including management of escrow arrangements and dealing with issues such as defaulting owners.

Michelle was ranked as a Recommended Lawyer by international directory The Legal 500 in 2019. She is on the Executive of the Property Transactions Committee of the New Zealand Law Society, she is an accredited member of the Property Law Section of the New Zealand Law Society and a member of a number of property industry groups.
