Christina Jiwon Park is a versatile and seasoned Korean attorney and serves as a Co-Head of the Insurance & Reinsurance Practice Group at Dentons Lee.
She is a graduate of Seoul National University College of Law with a stellar academic record. She is a Korean licensed attorney and completed her Judicial Research Training as part of the 37th Class, Ms. Park has worked at top-tier full-service law firms in Korea advising and representing clients in various financial sectors handling matters for the insurance and reinsurance, banking, investments, securities and asset management. In particular, she regularly deals with insurance products, reinsurance arrangements, international bond issuance, overseas project finance, ship financing using Bareboat Charter Hire Purchase structures, aircraft financing, inbound and outbound cross-border foreign investment, cross-border M&A, international project financing and other marine matters. In recognition of her dedicated service to her clients, she won the Chambers Leading Lawyers Award for the Shipping Finance practice area. She also advised clients from other industries, such as pharmaceutical and health, entertainment or energy on their business, investment, data privacy or economic sanctions.
Ms. Park also attended Harvard Law School in Boston where she acquired international legal expertise leading her be a member of various prestigious corporate legal departments at the Korea Development Bank and Korean Reinsurance as two of the largest financial corporations in Korea. She has been valued for her involvement not only in legal advocacy but also supporting her internal clients in the decision-making process relating to significant and critical commercial matters. As part of her career development, her law firm and in-house legal experience allowed her to gain a sharp while also broad understanding of the business operations, strategies and commercial objectives of her corporate clients. Based on such experience, Ms. Park regularly provides legal advice to domestic clients in Korea, including Korean financial institutions as well as foreign companies with her excellent foreign language communication skills on diverse matters to address the application of Korean laws and regulations, representation in dispute resolution involving litigation in the Korean courts and international arbitration utilizing various institutional arbitration rules such as the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, the International Commercial Court and others.
Today, she maintains a strong reputation and is in high regard for her legal advocacy skills and representation, while having active involvement in the Korean Bar and other related lawyer associations as well as the In-House Counsel Form in Korea where she has actively participates as a member and also as a lecturer and publishing literary works.
