Position

Diego Viana is a partner of the Montevideo office. He is the leader of the Labor team in Uruguay, having a vast experience in labor litigation and collective bargaining (both at company and sector levels).

Career

Diego has an active and renown role in negotiations with the banking union, mainly due to the advice he provided to Banco Santander S.A. within the collective bargaining of said client. He also participates in the Wage Council of the Meat Processing Industry and advises the five plants that the Marfrig Group has in the country. In addition, he provides advice related to subcontracting and his practice also covers all types of labor disputes, whether collective or individual. Since August 2012 he has been teaching Labor Law at the School of Business and Economics of the University of Montevideo.

Banco Santander: Assisting in the collective bargaining and labor matter since 2001. Marfrig: Advising in the area of Labor Law and in the practice of labor disputes. Provides labor advice on individual claims and labor disputes in all matters relating to labor matters. Participates in the negotiation of the salary councils of Meat Industry. Isbel S.A.: Advising on labor issues, commercial contracts and recoveries. Taym Uruguay S.A.: Provides labor advice on individual claims and labor disputes in all matters relating to labor matters. Advising in relation to contract and bidding.
