Nguyen Trung Nam (Tony Nguyen), a Senior Partner at Dentons LuatViet, is a leading attorney in Vietnam specializing in arbitration, energy, construction, corporate legal advisory, investment, and international trade. Over the years, Tony has been recognized in various prestigious international rankings, such as Who's Who Legal, Chambers, Legal 500, Benchmark Litigation, and Asialaw Profiles. Before joining Dentons LuatViet, he founded EPLegal, a renowned boutique local law firm specializing in International Commercial Arbitration, Energy, and Maritime-Aviation.

Tony established a strong leadership position in these fields before joining Dentons LuatViet. He has actively been involved in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) cases across Europe and Asia, representing clients at various international arbitration institutions such as VIAC, THAC, SIAC, ICC, LCIA, GATT, NUTS, and KCAB INTERNATIONAL.

His profound dedication to arbitration is evident through various leadership roles. In 2017, he was appointed to the Scientific Advisory Council by VIAC, where he actively participated in training, research, and drafting VIAC’s rules. In 2019, he became one of VIAC’s arbitrators and was also elected as the Chair of the potential CIArb Branch in Vietnam. In January 2020, he was appointed as the Deputy Director of the Vietnam Mediation Center (VMC). Additionally, he serves as the Executive Director and Co-Founder of the Vietnam Institute of Arbitration (VIArb), the first independent organization dedicated to arbitration and ADR training in Vietnam.
