Senior Associate

Robert Gilroy is a senior associate practicing in Dentons’ Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group. Based in Edmonton, Robert maintains a litigation and arbitration practice with a focus on large, complex infrastructure and construction disputes wherein he acts for contractors, engineers, owners and public utility companies, including on a number of claims exceeding CA$350 million. Robert has particular expertise in developing and defending delay and loss of productivity claims. Outside of construction, Robert also maintains a varied litigation practice, including in the areas of insurance defence, fraud and general contractual matters. As a former commercial lines insurance underwriter, Robert also specializes in providing insurance coverage opinions.

Robert has represented clients before the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta and the Court of Justice of Alberta, including numerous trials, before administrative bodies, and through various alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
