Position
Asif is a Partner at Devonshires and the head of the non-contentious Construction, Engineering & Procurement team. Asif provides strategic advice to our clients from pre-planning through to project completion and onward sale. He is the ‘go to’ person on transactional construction matters, assisting clients with all forms of construction procurement, including (but not limited to) traditional, design and build, modular construction, joint venture, management contracting and construction management. Asif’s experience and expertise covers: (1) advice on the procurement approach for construction projects, (2) drafting and negotiating all forms of industry specific construction contracts, bespoke construction contracts, development agreements, professional appointments, collateral warranties, deeds of novation, deeds of variation, performance bonds, parent company guarantees, asset management and facilities management contracts, (3) setting up tax efficient public sector development vehicles, (4) providing strategic advice on the delivery of distressed projects or projects in delay or over budget, (5) advising on contractor insolvency, and (6) advising on all forms of construction insurance.
