Position

Neil is a partner in the housing management department. Neil qualified as a solicitor in 2000 and joined Devonshires in 2003. His responsibilities include conducting housing litigation which involves defending disrepair claims, bringing actions for nuisance such as possession proceedings and injunctions, bringing possession actions for unlawful sub-letting and non-occupation and disputed succession claims following the death of a tenant. Neil also conducts general property litigation as well as leading the firm's leasehold management team, dealing with both residential and commercial property. This includes working on matters in relation to claims for forfeiture, business lease renewal claims under Landlord and Tenant Act 1954, service charge disputes, recovery of unpaid service charges and consultation and Judicial Review. As such Neil conducts cases in the County Courts, High Court, Magistrates Courts and tribunals. As well as conducting contentious cases Neil also provides non-contentious advice in respect of housing management and general property matters including drafting tenancy agreements, advising on policies and procedures and service charge consultation. Neil’s main clients are housing associations.
