Career

Carl A. de Brito is a partner in Dechert’s corporate and securities and financial services practices, as well as former co-chair of the firm’s private fund formation practice and former chair of the New York corporate and securities practice. He advises on private equity and credit fund formation and investments, as well as mergers and acquisitions, and securities and corporate finance transactions.

As counsel to a wide variety of institutional asset managers, including private equity and credit fund sponsors, Mr. de Brito advises on U.S. and overseas private fund formation and investment matters, private offerings of equity and debt securities and portfolio company and credit asset acquisitions and dispositions. In particular, he has represented asset managers and investors in fund formation matters across a broad based asset class, including buyout, mezzanine, distressed debt, high yield, credit opportunities and direct lending, as well as investment and leverage financing activities by those funds.
