Career

Dr. Katherine A. (“Kassie”) Helm, Ph.D., represents clients in patent litigation and related intellectual property, antitrust, healthcare and international arbitration matters. Dr. Helm's neuroscience background offers a unique perspective to innovator pharmaceutical, biotechnology and healthcare companies in all aspects of litigation, from pre-suit diligence through trial, appeal and full trials on remand.  She has represented life sciences companies in patent infringement, declaratory judgment, preliminary injunction and Hatch-Waxman actions, involving small and large molecules, as well as in pay-for-delay antitrust litigation, and in a variety of both federal and state complex commercial litigation and international arbitrations, involving joint ventures, licensing and drug development agreements.  Dr. Helm also has significant experience with concurrent Patent Office proceedings and global litigation including Inter Partes Reviews (IPRs), Post Grant Reviews (PGRs), Interferences and appeals, European Patent Office (EPO) Oppositions and appeals, as well as UK, French and other European patent revocation and infringement actions.
