Career

Scott A. Warren advises clients in the pharmaceutical, chemical, nutraceutical and medical device industries on intellectual property matters, particularly patent matters. His extensive experience includes handling litigation, opinion (invalidity, clearance and due diligence), counseling, patent prosecution, and interference matters before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Mr. Warren’s scientific background makes him uniquely qualified to advise clients in the life sciences sector. Before launching his legal career, he studied molecular biology as an undergraduate at Princeton University and pursued doctoral studies in cancer biology at Stanford University.

Mr. Warren has served as a faculty member in the Biotechnology section of the Practicing Law Institute’s Advanced Patent Prosecution Workshop. His teaching activities have also included serving as an adjunct professor at the Franklin Pierce Law Center for three years.

Prior to joining Dechert, Mr. Warren served as a partner in the litigation department of another international law firm.
