Position
Louise Krarup Simonsen has more than 20 years’ experience in advising Danish and international clients in connection with corporate financial challenges. She specialises in insolvency and restructuring scenarios and advises on all aspects within insolvency law, management liability, avoidance, distressed M&A as well as on security issues.
Louise is a renowned attorney within the Danish insolvency area, after having been a key figure in the administration of several high-profile bankruptcies in Denmark, such as Cimber Sterling Airlines A/S under konkurs (in bankruptcy).
In addition, Louise has previously worked as a deputy judge, including in the Bankruptcy Division of the Copenhagen Maritime and Commercial High Court.
Louise advises banks, other financial businesses and fintechs on financial/general regulatory issues and compliance, including on cross-border activities and special company-law issues relating to financial businesses.
Furthermore, Louise was part of the team which established Denmark’s most recent bank, kompasbank a/s, from scratch, and where she was Head of legal and compliance; in that connection, Louise gained valuable hands-on experience, enabling her to understand bank customers’ needs and handle issues in relation to regulatory authorities.
