Career

Nick works across the full range of patent activity in the life sciences sector, from pre-drafting advice and drafting of applications to worldwide portfolio management, prosecution and appeal. He is also experienced in defensive and offensive European oppositions and due diligence work.

Nick has a wide range of clients in the life sciences field, from universities to spin-outs and start-ups, SMEs, charities and research institutions.

He joined Mewburn Ellis LLP in 1997, qualifying as a Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney in 2001. He joined the partnership in 2003. In 2015, he was awarded a Higher Courts Litigation Certificate.

Education

He gained a BSc (Hons.) degree in biochemistry from the University of Bristol in 1990, then a PhD from the Department of Biochemistry at Leicester University in 1995.
