Victoria is involved in the drafting and prosecution of chemistry patents, as well as oppositions and appeals at the European Patent Office. She also undertakes Freedom to Operate work and validity opinions.

Victoria is passionate about diversity and inclusion and is a proud member of our I&D collaboration group, the WoMEn Network collaboration group and the CIPA diversity and inclusion committee.  As part of the I&D collaboration group Victoria has an active role in building and delivering the firm’s inclusion and diversity initiatives and to make sure equality and diversity are celebrated.  The WoMEn of Mewburn Ellis network provides a valuable space for women and allies to support and champion each other regardless of their role within the company. Victoria is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion both at Mewburn Ellis and throughout the wider profession.

Victoria has a Master’s degree in chemistry and patent law from Manchester University, undertaking a research project investigating organometallic diquat salts for non-linear optics in her final year. She gained first-hand experience of in-house IP work with a multinational pharmaceutical company.
