Career

Rebecca is a patent attorney in our chemistry team. She has experience in all stages of the patent lifecycle including invention capture, drafting and prosecution. Rebecca has particular expertise in oppositions and appeals before the EPO, infringement & validity opinions, freedom-to-operate advice, and IP strategy.

Rebecca works with a range of clients based in the UK, Europe, Japan and the US. Her main clients include a UK-based multinational specialising in chemicals and materials; a UK-based fast-moving consumable goods company; and Japan-based multinationals.

She joined Mewburn Ellis in 2016 and qualified as a UK Chartered Patent Attorney and a European Patent Attorney in 2021.

Education

Rebecca has an MSci degree (2012) and PhD (2016) in chemistry both from the University of Nottingham. Her PhD focussed on using ultra-high vacuum spectroscopic techniques for the surface characterisation of ionic liquids.
