Catherine, is a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney and a European Trade Mark Attorney.
Catherine has served as President of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA) as well as First Vice President, Second Vice President and Treasurer, since her election in 2004, and is a Fellow of the Institute. Her position at CITMA is now Past President, since May 2016.

Catherine is part of the CITMA Brexit Task Force Committee and regularly attends meetings of CITMA Council, Executive Committee, and Law & Practice Committee. In her capacity as CITMA President, Catherine regularly chaired lectures, seminars and meetings, including co-chairing CITMA’s autumn seminar in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 in Birmingham and the Spring Conference in London in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. She frequently meets delegates from the UK and European Union Trade Mark Registries, other attorney organisations and the UK legal profession, on behalf of CITMA.
Catherine is an internationally respected figure in the IP world and has significant contacts worldwide. She has filed applications in virtually every country in the world which has a Trade Mark Register, and has represented numerous clients, from private individuals to major corporations, in ex parte and inter partes hearings at the UK Trade Marks Registry. She has acted for many clients before the European Union Trade Marks Office (EUIPO) and its Boards of Appeal, and has worked on several cases which were appealed to the Court of First Instance (now the General Court). She is often asked to advise in commercially sensitive cases for very high profile companies and individuals.
