James is a chartered engineer, having previously held product development posts in the automotive industry in Germany and the UK. A significant proportion of James’ time is also spent prosecuting, opposing and defending European patents for large multinational clients. Specialist technical fields include: consumer products; manufacturing engineering; materials science; mechanical engineering; and medical technology. Areas of expertise include: filing and prosecution; freedom to operate opinions; oppositions and appeals; validity and infringement opinions.
