Career

Laura is a UK and European patent attorney in our electronics and mechanical group who has managed IP portfolios for both large and small companies.  She enjoys helping clients develop IP strategy and ensuring that their portfolio matches their commercial aims.  She handles a full range of patent work including prosecution, drafting and oppositions and has an excellent record of representing clients at oral proceedings.

Laura particularly loves working with SMEs, start ups and university spin outs to help maximise the value of their IP portfolio.  She has worked in a diverse technical range including lithographic apparatus, aerospace, mobile telecommunications, medical imaging, diagnostic systems and inductive power technology.  Recent work highlights include securing key protection for a client in the field of interferometric scattering microscopes.

Laura joined Elkington + Fife in 2021, after working elsewhere in private practice for over 15 years.
