Career

Jamie's practice focuses on biopharmaceuticals, diagnostics and synthetic biology, with expertise in immunotherapy, CRISPR and RNAi.

He has significant experience in due diligence and freedom to operate exercises in a variety of technical areas, including antibodies and biomarkers. A particular strength is designing and advising on freedom to operate strategies to suit a range of budgets and commercial requirements.

In addition to handling the drafting and prosecution of patent applications and the filing of registered design applications, Jamie has been involved in some of the most commercially important and legally complex oppositions in the life sciences field at the European Patent Office (EPO).

He lectures on intellectual property at University College London for biochemical engineers and is a regular contributor to Intellectual Property Magazine, providing commentary and insights on CRISPR patent news.

Jamie graduated from the University of Bristol with a first class degree in biochemistry, which included modules in pharmacology, chemistry and the molecular basis of diseases.
