Position

Lucy Bill is a civil practitioner with a particular specialism in personal injury, clinical negligence claims, costs and procedural disputes, acting for both Claimants and Defendants. Lucy enjoys a busy practice in Court and is instructed in fast track RTA and EL/PL matters, often involving allegations of fundamental dishonesty. Lucy is a persuasive yet measured advocate, with experience in successfully striking out statements of case and achieving costs consequences for unreasonable behaviour.

Lucy also has a strong paperwork practice, advising frequently on matters pertaining to liability, quantum, Part 36 offers and case management strategy. Lucy additionally accepts instructions to draft statements of case and Part 35 questions to experts, and is competent in dealing with complex quantum issues, including Ogden future loss calculations.

During pupillage, Lucy gained extensive experience by observing senior members in Chambers. In particular, Lucy drafted Schedules of Loss, observed CCMCs and witnessed formal mediations for high-value multitrack claims involving, inter alia, fatal accidents, catastrophic brain injury, sub-contractor disputes and stillbirth cases. Lucy also acted as pro bono junior counsel in a complex solicitor/client costs dispute arising from a CFA.

Outside of work, Lucy enjoys powerlifting, playing netball, skiing and baking.
