Richard Tambling

Position

Richard handles all aspects of financial remedies including matrimonial finance and Schedule 1 cases. He has extensive experience of variation cases and particular expertise in cases involving nuptial settlements and trusts. He has developed a strong practice encompassing MAFPA 1984 Part III claims and successfully argued for the dismissal of the wife’s case in Hasan v Ul-Hasan and another [2021] EWHC 1791 (Fam). He is regularly instructed on TOLATA claims and in particular those brought by cohabitees and with concurrent Schedule 1 applications. He is often instructed in cases involving interveners. He has a private law children practice dealing mainly with complex international contact arrangements.

Career

BA (Hons), LLB (Hons), Blackstone Entrance Exhibition Scholarship - Middle Temple. Called to the Bar in 2005.  Regularly called upon to give seminars to professionals and by leading legal information providers including Lexis Nexis.  Richard is a regular contributor of articles to publications. He has written for the Trusts and Estates Law & Tax Journal on one of the judgments in Tchenguiz-Imerman v Imerman.

Leisure

Richard enjoys music and plays drums, piano and drums. He is a keen reader with a particular interest in the history of London. He has travelled widely and enjoys experiencing different cultures and their varied cuisines.
