Career

Sophie prosecutes and defends cases in the Youth Court, Magistrates’ Court, and predominantly the Crown Court. Her experience covers a wide range of criminal matters including allegations of violence, sexual offences, drug offences, robbery, burglary, possession of offensive weapons and fraud. Recently, Sophie acted as a led junior in a multi-handed conspiracy to supply class A drugs. She also represented an 18-year-old at his trial for attempted GBH and possession of a bladed article, namely a machete.

Sophie has experience in representing defendants with a range of vulnerabilities and in cross-examining vulnerable witnesses. She has been commended by Crown Court Judges on her “focused and intelligent submissions” and her “polished and confident” manner.

Before joining Foundry Chambers, Sophie worked on capital defence cases in Houston, Texas.
