Barrister

Career

Finola Moore has practised almost exclusively in family law since she came to the bar in 1988. Before commencing her practice as a family law barrister, she was a teacher and historian.

Practice overview

With a comprehensive practice that spans all aspects of family law, Finola is a trusted expert in her field. Her expertise extends to international child abduction, relocation cases, and care cases involving parents, local authorities, and children’s guardians. She also handles private law disputes, providing guidance on contact and residence issues.

Finola also enjoys financial cases, whether under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989 or settling or contesting financial settlements of substantial value and complexity upon divorce, separation, or between separating adults; however, the relationship was formalised.

Finola is developing her practice to include Court of Protection work. Finola’s practice is designed to be accessible and client-focused. She is able to accept instructions directly from the public, empowering individuals to take control of their legal matters under the direct access rules.

Her skill set includes a genuine concern for her clients’ welfare and happiness, a tactfully humorous approach to negotiation where appropriate, direct advice to clients where required, clear analysis of the case and issues arising therefrom, and knowledge of the applicable law. Courageous in representing her clients, she ensures that the court is fully aware of her client’s case but seeks to persuade and develop the legal framework of the case to secure a successful outcome for her clients.
