Position

Clare prosecutes and defends in all areas of crime, both in the Magistrates’ and Crown Courts, as well as in the Youth Court. She is a CPS Grade 3 prosecutor. She regularly deals with cases involving domestic violence and is often instructed in matters involving young and vulnerable witnesses. Clare’s experience in the Crown Court ranges from cases involving assault occasioning actual bodily harm, burglary, robbery and benefit fraud to s.18 wounding with intent, aggravated burglary, armed robbery, the supply of drugs, possession of firearms and possession of indecent images. Clare also has experience representing clients accused of breaching SOPOs and SHPOs as well as those accused of sexual offences against children under 16.

During pupillage with Sophe Drake, now HHJ Sophie Mckone, Clare gained experience in working on some complex and high profile cases, a large number of which involved serious sexual offences.
