Position

Margaret Bowron KC’s practice has for a number of years been substantially concentrated on clinical negligence work, involving claims of all types but particularly cases of very high value, frequently arising from brain injury sustained at birth.

She has very extensive expertise in both complex liability and quantum issues and acts for both claimants and defendants.

Career

Called 1978; Silk 2001; Inner Temple; member of the Bar Council 1987-89; assistant recorder and then recorder 1993; QC 2001; qualified as a mediator 2003; chairman London Common Law and Commercial Bar Association 2007-09; chairman Legal Services Committee, Bar Council 2009.

In the last few years Margaret has been instructed in a number of group actions including claims involving gynaecologists in the North West and South West of England. High value personal injury actions remain an important part of her practice.

She has experience as a mediator, particularly in high value clinical negligence and personal injury claims and has been involved in the successful resolution of a complex group action.
