Position

Glenn’s practice is predominantly concerned with the defence of clients facing allegations of negligence in the course of professional practice, along with disputes traditionally dealt with by the Judges of the Chancery Division. In the professional negligence arena, Glenn has extensive experience of the defence of a broad spectrum of claims, predominantly in respect of allegations against lawyers, but also those brought against accountants, auditors, financial intermediaries, architects, surveyors and engineers. In the Chancery field, Glenn has substantial experience of advising and pleading across a broad range of litigious Chancery disputes and of advocacy in interim hearings, at trials and on appeals. He has particular experience of witness actions involving highly disputed facts. Professional Negligence: claims against lawyers brought by both individual and institutional claimants, and arising out of contentious and non contentious business, with a particular concentration on disputes arising out of the Chancery and commercial areas in which Glenn has experience; claims against engineers, surveyors and architects; claims against accountants, auditors and financial intermediaries. Chancery: wills, contentious probate and 1975 Act family provision claims; trusts, both charitable and private, and arising in the context of both commercial and personal cases, along with associated relief and remedies; law relating to the elderly and to vulnerable people, including Court of Protection matters and claims to equitable relief in relation to gifts or transactions; land problems including disputes about contracts, conveyancing, easements, restrictive covenants, mortgages and charges, landlord and tenant; company and insolvency, particularly transactional avoidance disputes. Commercial: insurance disputes; arbitration, avoidance, aggregation, interpretation and construction, and including problems arising in the context of professional indemnity, property, loss of profit and life policies; asset forfeiture claims under the Proceeds of Crime legislation; in addition to his civil practice, Glenn has experience as an advocate in the criminal courts, particularly in cases which raise issues connected to his principal areas of civil practice.
