Jonathan is a Partner and Head of the firm’s corporate department across Sussex, Surrey and London, and he maintains an active corporate practice across the south east

Jonathan is an expert in mergers and acquisitions, management buy outs and  buy ins, and sales.

Jonathan advises ambitious entrepreneurial businesses in the South East and has acted on some of the biggest sale transactions in the region over recent years.

Jonathan advises ambitious entrepreneurs and established businesses looking to build their business through acquisition.  He enjoys helping clients to plan ahead, deal with succession and achieve their optimum deal. This often begins several years before the final deal completes, allowing clients to feel far more in control of the deal process.

Jonathan has been named Corporate Lawyer of the Year at the Insider South East Deal Maker Awards, while the Department has been named Corporate Law Firm of the Year four times in the last 10 years. In that period the firm also won Deal of the Year (transactions over £10m) for three years, and Private Equity Deal of the year for two years.

Work highlights Acquisition by French manufacturing group CGR of John Binns & Sons (Springs), based in Skipton, North Yorkshire. This was CGR's first acquisition in the UK. Sale of content and curation provider - Anders Pink, founded in Brighton, to Australian based Go1. This deal was a share sale transaction completed in two weeks, from introduction to closing. Sale of international compliance business CCL Compliance to Wyastone, a leading PE backed provider of governance, risk and compliance services (2021). Advising on the £26.74 million share sale of Monty’s Bakehouse UK Limited to Singapore-listed SATS Investments PTE Limited. Advising on the £24 million pharmaceutical sector sale of Durbin PLC (UK) and Durbin Inc (US) to Dublin-based healthcare services company, Uniphar.
