Admitted (ad hoc) to the Bar of Malaysia; 1983-1985 First President of the Society of Construction Law, England; 1985 – 1987 President, European Society of Construction Law; 1987 Admitted ?to the Bar of Ireland; 1988 Admitted to the Bar of California; Admitted (ad hoc) to the Bar of Hong Kong. 1988-2005 Appointed a Recorder of the Crown Court. 1989 Admitted to the Bar of New South Wales (also QC); Visiting Professor in Construction Law, Queensland. 1990-91 Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators; 1998-2003 Commissioner of the United. Nations Compensation Commission; 2007-10 President of the Society of Construction Arbitrators; 2008 Admitted (ad hoc) to the Bar of Trinidad and Tobago; Principal Editor of Bernstein’s Handbook of Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Practice; Extensive practice in dispute resolution of disputes in various roles. The disputes have been subject to both common and civil law regimes and have dealt with construction, heavy engineering and infrastructure cases and commercial matters.
