Nick specialises in commercial litigation and arbitration and is regularly instructed in high profile commercial disputes, a number of which have been listed as “Top 20 Cases” in The Lawyer in recent years.
Nick has particular expertise in heavy-duty banking and finance and civil fraud cases, and his practice and interests also cover a wide range of other areas of commercial work, including professional negligence, art and cultural property, sport, aviation, insurance and international arbitration. He has significant experience both as a junior in major High Court litigation and high-value arbitrations, and as sole counsel in the High Court.
Nick’s recent instructions include acting for one of the principal defendants in the Ingenious Litigation, for a major Ukrainian bank in claims worth over US$400 million (Madison Pacific Trust Ltd v PrivatBank), for the successful claimant in a multi-million-pound breach of warranty claim (Arani v Cordic Group Limited [2023] EWHC 95 (Comm)), and for the claimant in a £60 million audit negligence claim brought by the administrators of a classic car company (JD Classics Limited (in administration) v PwC).
