Career

Philip Rainey KC is one of the Bar’s leading property barristers, handling both commercial and residential property work. His practice encompasses all aspects of real property, commercial landlord and tenant, as well as the residential landlord and tenant (particularly enfranchisement and service charges) in which Philip made his name. He has a wealth of experience at the highest level and is regularly in the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal engaged in cases at the cutting edge of property law.

Ranked in both Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 as a top property silk, he is recommended as: “a supremely confident, smooth, incredible advocate" "able to adeptly think on his feet in the face of extremely complicated and unique points of law."

Philip is co-author of Service Charges & Management (Sweet & Maxwell), Megarry’s Manual of Real Property (Sweet & Maxwell) and Rent Review: A Surveyor’s Handbook (RICS).
