Position

Anna practises in all areas of consumer and regulatory law.

Career

Called 2008 at Lincoln’s Inn. Experience in a number of international organisations, including the United Nations and the European Commission. Specialism in consumer and regulatory law, including unfair trading, misleading and comparative advertising, product labelling and liability, consumer contracts, food law and regulated lending. Particular expertise in EU consumer law, the primary authority scheme and judicial reviews. Recent work includes acting on behalf of the Civil Aviation Authority in the Court of Appeal case of Gahan v Emirates (delay and missed connections under Regulation 261/2004) and acting as sole counsel in the Administrative Court on behalf of Newcastle City Council in R. (Kingston upon Hull City Council) v Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills [2016] EWHC 1064 (Admin). Publications of note: contributing author, Kirk and Ross, Modem Financial Regulation (Jordans, 2013); EU law contributing editor and author of advertising chapter, Lewin and Kirk, Trading Standards: Law and Practice (Jordans, 2015).
